The village of Warmingham celebrated its 30th annual festival on Saturday 7th May 2011 where hundreds of people turned out to see the Warmingham Wakes procession followed by the crowning of the Wakes Queen.
Held in the gardens of Church House Farm with various events taking place including a maypole dance by the children of Warmingham Primary School, music from the Winterley Brass Band, dog show and the renowned Warmingham duck race where over a 1000 plastic ducks are let loose in the river.
Byley field target club have been attending this event for some years and offered a display of target shooting in a safe environment with all funds raised on the day, given to the charity of the day.
The event was a huge success and funds raised will go towards the upkeep of St. Leonard’s Church.
